WELCOME TO THE STORMWATER COLLABORATIVE!

Drainage from our region’s municipal stormwater systems is vulnerable to harmful pollutants—oil, grease and heavy metals from motor vehicles; pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers from lawns and gardens; silt and sediment from construction sites; and bacteria and excess nutrients from pet waste.  When discharged into catchbasins and roadside ditches, these pollutants pose threats to local drinking water supplies and fish & wildlife habitats.

Communities can manage stormwater systems to minimize pollution risks.  Our member communities are updating their system infrastructure inventory, reviewing the effectiveness of local regulations,  coordinating maintenance programs and putting in place best management practices in municipal stormwater design and operations.

This website is designed as a stormwater management information resource for municipal managers as well as Merrimack Valley residents, businesses and developers.
